Austria can expect calm and mild autumn weather for this time of year over the next few days. According to Thursday’s forecast by Geosphere Austria, high pressure will bring mostly sunny and dry conditions, with local fog and high fog patches clearing quickly in most areas.
Only in the north and east will there be occasional thicker clouds, with rain possible in some areas. Temperatures will remain above average, reaching up to 21 degrees in some places.
On Friday, the weather in the south and west will be mostly sunny after fog and high fog patches clear. In the north and east, however, thicker clouds will pass through again, with isolated rain showers possible between Flachgau and Mostviertel. The wind will be brisk in the east but otherwise light to moderate from the west. Early temperatures will range between three and twelve degrees, reaching 13 to 20 degrees during the day.
Under the continuing influence of high pressure, Saturday will bring widespread sunny and dry autumn weather. Only in the Northeast will lower clouds persist at first, before the sun breaks through there as well. The wind will remain mostly light, with moderate to brisk winds from the west to northwest at times in the northeast. Temperatures will range between zero and twelve degrees in the morning, with highs between 16 and 21 degrees.
Thicker clouds will pass through on Sunday
On Sunday, thicker clouds will pass through the north and east at times, with the possibility of isolated rain showers. In the west and south, however, sunny weather will prevail. The wind will be moderate from the west in the north and east, freshening at times in higher elevations—early temperatures: one to twelve degrees; daily highs: 13 to 19 degrees.
At the beginning of the week, Monday will bring sunny and dry weather to the south, while thicker clouds will move in from the north, which may bring some rain locally. Along the northern side of the Alps, the westerly wind will pick up in places. Early temperatures will range between three and eleven degrees, with highs between eleven and 19 degrees.
The sun will shine in many places on Tuesday
Tuesday will start slightly unsettled in the south and west with showery precipitation. However, drier and cooler air will increasingly prevail from the northwest as the day progresses, with sunshine returning in many places. The wind will be light to moderate from the north, with temperatures ranging between one and nine degrees in the morning and reaching nine to 15 degrees during the day, with the coolest temperatures in the Waldviertel region.
